We are a Marcus Model classroom.  All of our students receive pull out/separate instruction to meet their needs.  Our classes are overseen by a BCBA and we use the ABA approach that is developed by the Marcus School Consult Program within the state of Georgia.  Daily instruction includes individually/developed Discrete Trial Training Programs, Verbal Behavior/Functional Communication Training, and a variety of instructional strategies designed to increase skill acquisition tracked by the ABLLS-R, AFLS, and/or the VB-MAPP.

Dear Parents,

Welcome!

The beginning of the year is such an exciting time.  It is wonderful getting the students back into the school building.  I know it is going to be a great year and I’m excited to work together to meet the students’ needs.

There are a few items that would benefit us in working with your child.  If you would like to send in any of the following items please do – it would be very helpful and appreciated!

  • Baby Wipes

  • A complete change of clothing for this time of year in a Ziploc Bag (Please send cooler weather clothing when the season changes.)

  • Clorox or Lysol Disinfectant Wipes

  • Lysol Spray

  • 1 box gallon zip-lock bags, 1 box quart zip-lock bags & 1 box sandwich zip-lock bags

  • Box of Tissues

  • Snacks (Chips, cookies, fruit snacks, pretzels, any other items your child enjoys)

  • Reinforcers (Skittles, Mini Oreos, Mini M & M’s, Sour Patch, Jelly Beans, etc.)

  • Drinks for students

A daily report will be sent home with your child in their notebook each day. Please don’t hesitate to send notes to me in the notebook.  These notebooks are an excellent way to communicate with each other.

If you have any questions you can reach me in the following ways:

I look forward to a wonderful year and I’m so happy to have the opportunity to work with your child.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Bender
